Family party

Saturday evening was Cade's big family birthday party. It was such a great time! Cade is so blessed to have so many people in his life who want to celebrate him! Our handsome boy stopped for a picture in front of the cake table. Again, I love his facial expressions these days- they are priceless! We decided to go with a "Little Champ" theme, because Cade loves all things sports these days. Our neighbor made the cake- it was so neat! Baseball cookies... Big Sis looked awfully pretty for the party... The boys manned the grill (and the food was delicious!)... Cade got some lovin' from Papaw... And hung out with Uncle Kyle...After dinner, it was time for the pinata!! Give it your best shot, Cade! Ella pulled out some great pinata moves! And Payton took a turn... Cade jumped back up for another turn. He made us laugh- he wouldn't let us tie the scarf around his eyes, but he absolutely had to wear it somewhere. Taking another break with Aunt Pam and Kellie- the boy has a thing for pretty ladies!
Back up for more action- note the scarf on his head this time. Silly boy!
Payton took one final turn... Bingo!! We went back inside for cake and ice cream. Our big two year old (it's kind of hard to smile with so much candy in your cheek!)...We love you, Cade! My precious family...Blowing out the candles...
Make a wish, Buddy!
Time for presents! Payton made Cade laugh with a funny Spongebob card...The best gift of the night- a little light that spins. It's the simple things, right?
New Elmo jammies!
New Nerf balls! Check out that face!
A water worm! Can't wait to use that this summer!A Lightning McQueen car!He loves that thing! The big kids played some ball on Cade's new basketball goal...
What a fun party! The birthday boy was tuckered out and ready to call it a night, but not before he put on his new boots and pranced around a bit! haha! I love it!Sunday was more fun and lots more play time...
I call this picture "Birthday Recovery". =) What a big weekend for a little guy!
Thank you to everyone who came up to celebrate our little boy with us and thanks for all the great presents! We all had such a wonderful time and appreciate everything so much!

Soccer game #1

Ella's first soccer game was Saturday afternoon. Our little soccer player was all smiles and ready to go! She sat out the first quarter, and Cade just had to go sit by her. They are too sweet!
She got to go in at the start of the second quarter and played the rest of the game. Papaw, Mamaw, Kyle, Kellie, and Payton were able to come watch. It was fun. I love watching these little kids play. It is so comical! A bunch of them would run to the ball, then they would all stand there and just look at it, like they were wondering what they should do with it and who was going to be the first one to kick it. Just hilarious. Go, Ella!
Keeping warm with Momma...
Heading back to the huddle...
Shaking hands after the game...
They don't keep score at this age (but her team did win! ha!) We asked her if she had fun and she said, "Yeah, but I didn't even score one time!" We assured her there would be lots of other times to score and that she should be proud that she played hard and made some good contact with the ball. It's going to be fun watching her as she gets the hang of it.

Birthday boy

The birthday boy was so excited to wake up to birthday decorations! He kept saying, "Momma, see?" He would grab my hand and lead me over to the decorations, then start singing Happy Birthday. He was so proud! He chose donuts for breakfast... and then again for lunch!
He got a surprise package from Papaw and Mamaw!
It was full of balloons, a bat, and balls...
After his favorite spaghetti dinner, it was time for birthday presents! He is so full of expressions these days- I love it!
Cards first...
Hugs and kisses from Sis...
A new book that makes car and tractor noises!

It took lots of concentration to get his next gift open...
His very own shotgun!
Ella could hardly wait for him to open her gift- a new backpack and rainboots! He loved it! He squealed and said, "A bat-tat!! And boooooots!" So fun!
All dressed up and on the hunt...
Then he opened a new picnic table from Daddy and Mommy...
Time for cake! Birthday cheese!
The best part- blowing out the candles!
It looked pretty yummy...
So he decided to try it out...
Whatcha think, Buddy? =)
YUM!!

The night wouldn't be complete without a little pouting...
Ella put her rainboots on, too, and they sat down to help Daddy assemble the picnic table...
A perfect place to read books!
We must have sung Happy Birthday at least ten times that night, and every time was more fun than the last! Cade loves to sing it, even to himself!

We love you, Buddy! Happy 2nd Birthday!
