Marriage on the brain

Ella: Hey, Mom, you know what A.J. said to me at school? He wants to hold my hand! Can you believe that? I told him I'm not ready to get married!

Ella: Wow, Cade! You're wearing big boys undies? You're really growing up! Next thing you know, you're going to find a girl to kiss and get married!
(because that is just the natural progression of things, right? =)

Ella: Mom, we were talking at school today. You were like 14 or 15 when you had me, right? So how old were you when you got married?
(Oh, to be a fly on the wall for that conversation!)

Cade (talking about two people laughing on tv): Are they married?
Me: I don't know. Why, do you think they're married?
Cade: Yeah, they're laughing.
Me: Is that what you think it means to be married?
Cade: Yeah, married means to be happy. =)

Around here

We've been up to fun things around here! Kyle, Kellie, and Payton came to see us over the weekend and we had a great time together. Ella was off school on Monday, so the kids and I had a special lunch and shopping date. They each ended up with a few things off the clearance racks and were feeling pretty happy and spoiled. =) We had company for dinner one night and you know Ella and Cade are all about the entertaining! They really put on a show that night. We play outside when we can, but have mostly been trying to come up with fun things to do inside, like family game night! I feel like all three of our kiddos are getting so big, especially Ella. She is really maturing and coming into her own. I just want to capture moments with them as much as I can and store up all these treasured days in my heart. I know they will be grown before I know it. *tear*
Anyways [deep breath, Momma!], Ella and Cade are always excited when their big cousin Payton comes to visit, or in Cade's case, his older "twin". Look at them! It is just amazing how much they look alike, right down to their skinny, little legs. =) Harper was all smiles for her Uncle Kyle One of Ella and Cade's "most favorite and special" things is family bowling night on the Wii, so we've been trying to have those when we can. They jump and hoop and holler. It is so fun! It is usually "boys" versus "girls" and, well, even with Harper in my arms, we usually seem to pull off the win! If you know my husband, you know that doesn't go over too well! haha! And popcorn is a must while bowling! Love watching this cute, little boy! Cade scored an all-time personal best this week of 90! =) Way to go, Buddy!

Just because...

These precious faces make my heart happy!!

Valentine's Day 2012

Valentine's day was a fun day around here! Since Ella was a baby, we've always given her a balloon for Valentine's Day and that balloon means more to her than anything! This year she got a Snoopy balloon, Cade got Toy Story, and Harper got a heart. When Cade woke up that morning, I asked him if he would be my Valentine. He thought for a minute and said, "Yeah, sure! That'd be great!" My loves Giggles from my littlest Valentine Ella made us a love bug at school. It was too cute!! She also made us each a beautiful card. She was excited to have a day "all about love". =) For dinner, we made heart-shaped pizza. Snazzy, right?? Ella and Cade were great helpers. Cade made sure his olives were placed just perfectly. Special "pink drink" with dinner. Sundaes with extra sprinkles for dessert! Ella said, "Mom and Dad, you guys are the best!" =) I came home to these. There are pink roses, gerbura daisies, and hydrangeas- all my favorites! My #1 Valentine also happens to be my husband of EIGHT years!! We had no idea where life would take us eight years ago. Now three kids, three moves, and five jobs later, there is no one I'd rather have by my side. I feel so incredibly blessed to have such a loyal, supportive, and generous partner to travel down this road with. I love you, Honey! Happy Anniversary!

My little man

I smile when I see things like this...My little man is my buddy these days! When Ella's at school and Harper is napping, he is all about his momma! It doesn't matter what we do, he is right by my side. I always say, "Are you the man of house?" He makes the funniest little face, kind of shakes his shoulders, and says, "Yep, Cade's the MAN!" And he's a man who likes to clean- what could be better?! haha!
