Trimming the tree

We finally got around to decorating the tree last night. It's been up with lights on for almost a week now, but we've been waiting for a night when we were all home to add the ornaments. I (luckily!) got called off of work last night, so we turned on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation :) and got to work. Little Miss Independent knew exactly how she wanted things to be done and pretty much took charge (poor girl didn't stand a chance being any other way with parents like us! haha!). Cade just wanted to be in the thick of it all and managed to do just that. Only a small tree was knocked over and only one ornament broken, so I guess we faired pretty well, considering! :)
Ella decided to decorate the small trees first. Notice Cade's legs in the background- everywhere Ella went, he followed. He wasn't going to miss a thing!
Good job, Sis!

Decorating...

It is so pretty! I just love it!

And it just wouldn't be a normal night around here without a few tears... :)
Awww, I love that Cade is trying to comfort Ella...
She perked back up when we asked her to take a picture (she does a good job, huh?). Me and my sweetie...
And I have to add this- earlier in the evening last night, we grabbed some coffee and drove around to look at Christmas lights. Ella was excited and enjoyed looking for "sparkly bracelets" (wreaths) on houses. I thought that was so cute!
